Estrid Åkermark (born 1998) is an artist from Stockholm who works with sculpture, animation and video installation. She is studying her final year at Umeå Academy of Fine Arts and is graduating with a bachelor's degree of fine arts this summer. Estrid's hyperreal avatars are the result of observations of the young woman's presence in the digital world and how aesthetics and new subcultures are shaped by social media and the environment. She has exhibited her works with, among others, Liljevalchs konsthall, Moderna Museet, London Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week.
Estrid has chosen to support ”Läkarmissionen mot könsstympning”. All of the profits are donated there.
Cissi Efraimsson is a crossover artist, freely moving between various media and artistic expressions. Her films, paintings, animations, music, and drawings are strongly interconnected to one another.
Efraimsson is currently enrolled in the MFA program in Experimental Animation at the California Institute of the Arts. She received a BA in Fine Arts from the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm in 2018.
Efraimsson works at the borderline between reality and the surreal/supernatural. She often uses a dream, myth, or creature and places it in the real world, within a contemporary context inspired by popular culture. Efraimsson is renowned for her ability to counterbalance the ordered and near-perfect with the warped and absurd. The atmosphere she creates is often a balance between the ugly and beautiful, and Efraimsson mines events and dialog from her own life – with a certain degree of twisting and turning. Recurring themes include fantasy, escapism, magic, and the subconscious, while humor and a playful energy course throughout everything Efraimsson creates.
Cissi has chosen to support ”Sea Shepherd”. All of the profits are donated there.
JESPER BROR PALMQVIST
"In my internship, I work in series. It is about re-managing the subject in a repetitive act to create a narrative. The story is my escapism. The feeling of being in a story makes me think away the present. My storytelling usually consists of personal memories, experiences and relationships that I think need to be told."
"In my ongoing project “Emancipation” I draw a series of homoeroticism. The series is partly about embodying my process of finding identity, but has also become an experiment with the thesis that teasing is an aesthetic. I investigate teasing in relation to withholding information with the aim of arousing fantasies about what is being withheld. The retention of information can be equated with a language. A language, an aesthetic consisting of the retention of information."
Jesper has chosen to support ”Egalia Ungdom”. All of the profits are donated there.
